National Museum of the Marine Corps

The 120,000 square foot museum at Quantico, Virginia, proudly displays the heritage of the U.S. Marine Corps. The project was completed in two phases, with an impressive gallery space, an entrance lobby, offices, orientation theater, and gift shop on the first floor and cafeteria with full kitchen on the second floor included in the initial phase. The Balfour Beatty / Fentress Architects / Mason & Hanger design-build team also provided design and construction of an adjacent park and chapel.

Phase II of the project added an additional 98,300 square feet of space. The administrative space on the second floor was expanded by 11,300 square feet. Expansion of the first floor includes a 350-seat giant screen theater, additional exhibit galleries, a lecture-style conference room, an artist studio and combat art program support space.
